Valley of Flowers is one of the most beautiful places in Uttarakhand. Every year, lakhs of people visit this hidden paradise. Covered with colourful flowers, waterfalls, and mountain views, this valley is part of UNESCO World Heritage Site.

 

If you’re planning to visit in 2025, here is everything you should know — from opening date to online booking and permits.

Valley of Flowers 2025 Opening Date

Every year, Valley of Flowers opens on 1st June and remains open till 31st October. But the best time to visit is between July to mid-August, when the flowers are in full bloom.

Here is the quick detail:

  • Opening Date: 1st June 2025

  • Closing Date: 31st October 2025

  • Best Time to See Flowers: 10 July to 15 August

  • Best Time for Clear Weather: September (less flowers but great views)


Entry Fee and Permit Charges

To enter Valley of Flowers, you need a Forest Entry Permit. You can get it online or from the entry gate at Ghangaria.

Here are the ticket charges:

Ticket valid for 3 days only. After that, you need to buy again.


Offline Ticket Booking

If you miss online booking, don’t worry. You can also buy ticket at the Forest Department check post in Ghangaria. They accept cash and card both.

But in peak season (July-August), there’s usually a big rush in morning. So, online booking is better.


Timings of Entry

  • Gate Opening Time: 7:00 AM

  • Last Entry Allowed: 2:00 PM

  • Return Time Limit: You must return from valley by 5:00 PM

Valley is 3-4 km from Ghangaria. So, plan your trek timing carefully.


Things to Carry

  • Valid ID proof

  • Soft/hard copy of entry ticket

  • Raincoat / poncho

  • Trekking shoes

  • Light snacks and water

  • Camera and power bank

  • Walking stick (optional)


Important Tips

  • No night stay is allowed inside Valley.

  • Plastic is not allowed – keep a trash bag.

  • Network is weak – download offline maps.

  • Hire a guide if you want to explore deep into the valley.

  • Start trek early to avoid afternoon rain.

  • If you’re going to Hemkund Sahib too, take proper rest at Ghangaria.
