What is Himalaya Calling?

Himalaya Calling is not just a conference—it’s a powerful gathering of minds who care for the Himalayas. The theme for this year is:

Who is Organising It?

The main organiser is UPES (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies), Dehradun, through its special arm called HILL Institute. This institute focuses on research and solutions for mountain ecosystems.

Himalaya Calling 2025 is supported by:

  • Government of Uttarakhand

  • UCOST (Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology)

  • National-level science and climate research institutions

  • Local NGOs and community-based organisations

Role of Government & NGOs

The Government of Uttarakhand is providing complete support in planning and promoting the summit. UCOST is guiding the scientific and research-based activities. NGOs working in mountain development are getting space to share their solutions and connect with policymakers.

Such collaboration between government, research institutions, and local people is a great example of how real development can happen.

Why It Matters for Travel Businesses, Bloggers, and Locals

If you’re in the field of tourism, adventure, blogging, or community service in the Himalayas—this summit is made for you.

Travel businesses can learn sustainable tourism practices that benefit both the economy and the environment.

Bloggers will get rich content, meaningful stories, and contacts from across the Himalayan belt.

Mountain communities will get to present their own traditional solutions and build new partnerships for the future.

A Personal Note from Me

I’m very happy to share that I will also be attending Himalaya Calling 2025. As someone who writes about Himalayan culture, destinations, and people, this is a golden opportunity to connect with experts and mountain lovers.

I strongly encourage you—my readers, fellow bloggers, tourism professionals, and students—to attend this summit. It is a once-in-a-year chance to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.

Final Thoughts

Himalaya Calling 2025 is much more than a conference. It is a platform where real conversations meet real actions. From climate change to culture, from policy to village-level innovation—everything will be covered.

So mark your calendar and plan your trip to Dehradun this September. Let’s rise with the Himalayas, and create a better future—together.
